Fall Home Maintenance Checklist
Fall is just around the corner, so it is time to take a look around and review your home maintenance checklist. Here are some points to keep in mind as the season starts to change:
- Clean leaves from eavestroughs and downspouts
- Inspect the exterior of your home for any issues, such as peeling paint, and make any necessary repairs
- Inspect the roof for missing or loose shingles
- Make sure the soil around your foundation slopes away from your house
- Turn off exterior faucets and drain hoses
- Clean yard equipment before putting it away for the year
- Inspect the caulking around windows and doorframes
- Clean or replace dirty furnace filters
- Prepare your deck for winter
- Replace batteries in all CO2 & fire detectors
You will be ready for winter and head off pricey repairs by taking the time to preform these simple preventative tasks.
